Wayne T. Boulais

Wayne Boulais is a general partner with investment focus in wireless communications, enterprise applications & infrastructure, and cleantech.  Prior to joining Apex, Wayne was a founding member of the Marsh & McLennan Capital Communications & Information Fund, a joint venture between Marsh & McLennan Capital and Mercer Management Consulting.  He was a partner in Mercer's Communications, Information and Entertainment industries practice.  Prior to Mercer, Wayne led large communications systems development projects for Raytheon Corporation.  Wayne received his MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management, and an MS and a BS in Engineering from University of Massachusetts.

Wayne currently serves as Director of Bitwave Semiconductor, IfByPhone, IQS, Metatomix, and SolFocus.  He is a board observer of CombineNet, and Enkata Technologies.  Wayne is also a board member of the Illinois Venture Capital Association.

Wayne's previous investments included Broadbeam (acquired by MobileAware), eCredit (acquired by Fidelity Venture), Imaging Portals (acquired by MWA Intelligence), and RMI Corporation (acquired by NetLogic Microsystems.)

Lon H. H. Chow
Lon Chow is a general partner with investment focus in software applications and technology-enabled services.  Prior to joining Apex, Lon was a partner with Mercer Management Consulting (formerly Strategic Planning Associates), where he developed and implemented growth strategies for clients in computing, media, and telecommunications industries.  He also held various operating management positions with Pacific Telesis.  Lon received an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA from the University of California, Davis.

Lon currently serves on the boards of Advanced Equities Financial Corp., Analyte Media, ALI Solutions, Appolicious, CraftedFun, Current Analysis, Sittercity, and Timelines.  He is a board observer of MEI Corporation.  Lon's outside board membership includes Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center and Viewpoints Network

Lon's previous investments included ICON Solutions (acquired by AnswerThink), KnowledgeStorm (acquired by TechTarget), PlaceWare (acquired by Microsoft), Shoebuy.com (acquired by IAC/InterActiveCorp), Thinque Systems (acquired by MEI), Tradex Technologies (acquired by Ariba) and WorldPrints (acquired by At Home). 

Nancy L. Corrie
Nancy Corrie is a general partner and serves as the firm's Chief Financial Officer.  Nancy joined Apex in 1991 after serving as a senior accountant at Arthur Andersen LLP for six years.  She received a bachelor's degree in accounting from DePaul University and is a Certified Public Accountant.  Nancy is responsible for overseeing all financial and regulatory reporting, accounting and administrative functions of Apex as well as limited partner reporting and communications.

James A. Johnson
Prior to founding Apex in 1987, Jim was a founding partner of Knightsbridge Partners, a middle market buy-out firm.  Prior to Knightsbridge, Jim served in senior management roles with Beatrice Foods, including corporate CFO and senior vice president of the $6 billion US Foods subsidiary.  While at Beatrice, Jim was involved in more than 200 acquisitions and divestitures.  Jim holds an MBA from Northwestern University, and a BA from Loyola University.

Jim currently serves on the boards of Envestnet and E-Duction.

George M. Middlemas
George Middlemas is a general partner who joined Apex in 1991 and has been involved in the venture capital industry since 1979.  Prior to joining Apex, he was a senior vice president and principal with Inco Venture Capital Management and a vice president and member of the investment committee with Citicorp Venture Capital.  He was instrumental in the founding of America Online and Security Dynamics Technologies, Inc. (RSA Security).  George received an MBA from Harvard University, an MA from the University of Pittsburgh, and BA degrees from the Pennsylvania State University.  He also serves on the Library Development Board of the Pennsylvania State University.

George currently serves as Director of Advanced Equities Financial Corp., CombineNet, IQS, and as board observer of BFG Technologies.

(Nasdaq: ORCC), RSA Security (Nasdaq: RSAS, acquired by EMC), Tut Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: TUTS, acquired by Motorola), and VPNet Technologies, Inc. (acquired by Avaya).

Armando Pauker
Armando is a general partner with an investment focus in enterprise infrastructure (hardware, software, security) and cleantech.  Prior to joining Apex, Armando served as Vice President of Networking Products for Cybernet Systems Corporation, a Linux-based software start-up.  Previously, he was a senior product manager for Electronics for Imaging, a developer of high performance digital imaging servers.  Armando also served as a management consultant with Booz.Allen & Hamilton, where he worked with clients in technology industries.  Prior to Booz, Armando was a senior engineering manager at Tandem Computers, Inc., where he led product strategy, and hardware and software development in computer subsystems.  Armando holds an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Michigan, and he received his BS in Engineering from California Institute of Technology.

Armando currently serves on the boards of Initiate Systems and BrightCloud.  He previously served on the board of Informative (acquired by Satmetrix), and led Apex's investment in Suniva.
